GLENN HUGHES, JOE LYNN TURNER To Visit Russia Despite Terrorist Acts

Pravda.ru is reporting that Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH) and Joe Lynn Turner (RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE) are going to visit Russia in the near future despite the recent wave of terrorist acts in the country, deputy Moscow mayor Mikhail Men told Interfax Wednesday (Sept. 8).

"Recent tragic events in Russia have exerted enormous psychological pressure on the whole world. A lot of foreign guests delayed or canceled scheduled visits to our country. However, Glenn Hughes and Joe Lynn Turner do not intend to change their plans," Men said.

The two musicians and their producer, Mark Wexler, sent a letter to Russian colleagues presenting their condolences in connection with recent terrorist acts.

Two Hollywood stars, Matt Damon and Tom Cruise canceled their visits to Moscow last week. Matt Damon's visit was canceled "in connection with latest events in the country," United International Pictures marketing director Ruslan Tatarintsev said in an interview with Echo of Moscow radio station.
