GLENN HUGHES, CHAD SMITH To Guest On PLANET ROCK This Weekend

September 7, 2006

Legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH) and his drummer/producer Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS) will be interviewed on Planet Rock this Saturday, September 9 at 7:00 p.m. GMT. More information is available at this location.

As previously reported, Hughes's European tour is scheduled to begin October 24 in Dublin and tentatively slated to end on December 11 in Paris. Final confirmations are being made at the moment, and as it will be Glenn's most intensive and important solo tour yet, his management wants to be 100 percent sure on the schedule before it goes to press with the dates. There will be five or six British shows — including a prestigious concert at Shepherd's Bush Empire on October 29 — and the European dates will include some new territories as well as some cities that Glenn has not played in for many years.

Hughes' latest solo album, "Music for the Divine", is available now on Frontiers Records. The CD was recorded in Chad Smith's (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS) house in Los Angeles and again features Smith on drums and longtime Glenn Hughes collaborator JJ Marsh on guitar. Also featured are RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS guitarist John Frusciante and Mark Killian, who has provided the string arrangements and keyboards.
