GAMMACIDE To Celebrate 20th Anniversary With Texas Tour

June 13, 2006

This summer, legendary Texas thrashers GAMMACIDE will mark their 20th year of existence by spreading their highly toxic brand of metal throughout their home state. Those in attendance can expect 100 percent old-school thrash metal mayhem, featuring classic cuts from their 1990 release "Victims of Science" as well as a preview of brand new GAMMACIDE material.

Last year, GAMMACIDE reissued "Victims of Science" on CD for the first time, remastered with bonus tracks including two brand new recordings. GAMMACIDE followed up the "Victims" reissue with a series of shows with fellow reunited Texas speed demons RIGOR MORTIS.

Formed in 1986, GAMMACIDE gained international attention through the tape-trading underground and the worldwide network of underground fanzines.
In 1990 they released "Victims of Science" on the L.A. indie label Wild Rags. They toured throughout the south, headlining their own gigs as well as opening for bands like DARK ANGEL, KREATOR, DEATH, EXODUS and many others.

In 1991 they released a four-song cassette, "Gammacide 1991".

GAMMACIDE's original line-up is reunited, featuring the hostile vocals of Cajun swamp terrorist Varnam Ponville, the double-edged guitar violence of Rick Perry and Scott Shelby, and the thunderous punk metal attack of drummer Jamey Milford. The lineup is completed by Alan Bovee on bass.

GAMMACIDE has entered the most prolific writing period of its career. The band is currently in discussion with several labels for releasing brand new material. Songtitles of these future GAMMA-classics include "Self Will Run Riot", "I Hold the Bomb", "Unleashed" and "All in my Mind". The material is described as "100 percent old-school thrash metal mayhem, chock-full of pounding drums, crushing riffs, and searing lead guitars.

These shows will be GAMMACIDE's only United States appearance this year, so catch them as they rampage throughout Texas:

Aug. 03 - Austin, TX @ Redrum
Aug. 04 - Houston, TX @ Forgettabout It
Aug. 05 - Dallas, TX @ Galaxy Club
Aug. 06 - Fort Worth, TX @ The Aardvark
