GALAR Signs With DARK ESSENCE RECORDS

September 1, 2009

Norwegian "viking" metal band GALAR has inked a deal with the Bergen-based label Dark Essence Records. The group's new album, "Til Alle Heimsens Endar", will be released in early 2010. The CD was recorded at Conclave Media Studio (HELHEIM, TAAKE) with producer Bjørnar E. Nilsen and was previously described by the band as "a natural continuation of our debut, 'Skogskvad' [2006], but more epic and massive!" Phobos (AETERNUS, MALSAIN) was recruited to play drums on the effort and the band also used a string quintet to add another dimension to the music.

"Til Alle Heimsens Endar" is a concept album revolving around the local Viking kings from the band's home county of Vestfold, Norway. The lyrics are all in Norwegian and written by Jorge Blutaar from DRAUTRAN.

The "Til Alle Heimsens Endar" recording lineup was as follows:

Slagmark: Grim Vocals, Guitar, Bass
Fornjot: Clean Vocals, Bassoon, Grand Piano, Keyboards
Phobos: Session Drums
Jorge Blutaar: Lyrics
Ricardo Odriozola: First and Second Violin
Hans Gunnar Hagen: Viola
Siri Hilmen: Cello
Morten Nome: Double Bass
Cecilie Langlie: Female Vocals
