Future Uncertain For QUEEN Musical In U.S.

January 20, 2006

Launch Radio Networks reports: The QUEEN musical "We Will Rock You" ended its Las Vegas run in November, and now group principals Brian May and Roger Taylor are figuring out what to do next. Early reports indicated they would mount a touring company before taking it to Broadway, but Taylor told Launch that plans are still up in the air. "I'm not sure," he said. "There's talk about it touring. We felt the Vegas show was OK, but it didn't, the room wasn't really, it was a Las Vegas room, if you know what I mean. It didn't really quite work as we'd hoped, we'd hope here. Maybe it's the wrong place, I don't know."

"We Will Rock You" played 520 performances at the Paris Hotel & Casino before closing on November 27.

The musical is still running in England, Spain, Germany, Switzerland and South Africa.

QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS will play 23 shows in North America, beginning on March 3 in Miami, Florida.
