FURY FEST Organizers Are Confident Festival Will Go Ahead As Planned

June 8, 2005

The organizers of France's Fury Fest have issued a statement explaining the circumstances that led to this year's festival nearly getting cancelled after they failed to provide "any guarantees concerning the security of the public and other people present," according to a local media report. In addition, there weren't any guarantees about hygienic conditions for campers and the festival is said to be not fully insured. According to the festival organizers, all the problems should be resolved now and there should be no reason for the festival not to go ahead as planned.

Commented the organizers: "The security [paperwork] has been delivered to the authorities today. It is complete and [identical] to the one we used last year. Therefore there is no reason for the festival not to go ahead as it satisfies the requirements of the authorities….

"We are serious about taking the necessary precautions for an event of this size. Today, Ben and the new crew will meet with the authorities of Mans.

"We are equipped with a new team who are fully commited to organize this festival and we are working as fast as we can to make up for the lost time."

Fury Fest is scheduled to take place June 24-26 in Le Mans, France. Acts confirmed to appear at the festival include MEGADETH, ANTHRAX, KREATOR, SLAYER and MOTĂ–RHEAD.
