Funeral Service For SLAUGHTER/STRAPPADO Drummer Scheduled For Tomorrow

A funeral service for Brian Lourie, the former drummer of the legendary Canadian band SLAUGHTER and a member of the post-SLAUGHTER outfit STRAPPADO, will be held tomorrow (Tuesday, October 7) at 11 a.m at Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road, Scarborough (between Eglinton and St. Clair Aves. E.), Ontario, Canada. Cremation will follow.

You can read Lourie's obituary and view/sign the guest book in the Toronto Star.

SLAUGHTER vocalist/guitarist Dave Hewson stated about Lourie: [He] was one of the best people I have ever met and was a huge part of SLAUGHTER joining in 1987-88 'till we disbanded in 1992. His sense of humor and love for life made him such a wonderful person who will be greatly missed."

Poland's Metal Mind Productions re-released the two albums from SLAUGHTER"Strappado", the debut album from 1986 featuring an extremely brutal combination of death and trash metal, spiced with some punk and hardcore influences; and "Not Dead Yet/Paranormal", the compilation album from 2001 — in May in Europe (July in the USA via MVD). The limited-edition digipack titles (limited to 2,000 copies) was made available on golden disc, digitally remastered using 24-bit technology.
