Former VANIZE Guitarist Confirms Departure

Guitarist Rolf Munkes has confirmed his departure from Germany's VANIZE, the band that features in its ranks Peter Dirkschneider, the younger brother of former ACCEPT/current U.D.O. frontman Udo Dirkschneider.

"After two years being in VANIZE, I left the band," Munkes writes on his official web site. "Together with Marcus (Bielenberg, bass) and Pierre (Fienhold, drums), we've decided to leave Peter. We are currently looking for a new singer to record the songs we already wrote for the planned album. We will come up with some great material and a NEW NAME once a singer is chosen. Thanks to all of the fans who supported me and the band in that time. Besides that, I'm really busy doing the final recordings for the EMPIRE album. It sounds really GREAT and I wanted to thank every one of the musicians for their amazing work. Mhoriz from Italy will do the layout and cover!"
