Former PANTERA Bassist Selling Classic 'Great Southern Trendkill' Guitar

A prototype Fernandes signature bass guitar used by Rex Brown (DOWN, PANTERA) during the recording and promotion of PANTERA's "The Great Southern Trendkill" album as well as the "Official Live: 101 Proof" tour is up for sale on eBay. The seller's statement about the bass reads as follows: "There are many tablature books out there, but here is something that made the PANTERA sound. Here is your chance to own an actual piece of the PANTERA empire. This bass is being sold by Rex, not a collector or investor. Rex is selling it because basically it's just been sitting sealed up in a storage unit since the PANTERA days and deserves a much better fate. Don't pass on this rare opportunity. I am the official PANTERA and DOWN webmaster and I am running this auction for Rex while he is in the studio with DOWN, recording their third album. The auction winner will also receive a limited edition autographed picture of Rex, and the bass comes in a hard case. The bass is playable and sounds great!"

DOWN recently completed a Canadian tour as the support act for HEAVEN AND HELL and MEGADETH.

DOWN entered a Los Angeles studio in February to begin recording its third full-length album, tentatively titled "Down III". Producer Warren Riker (CROWBAR, SUBLIME) is helming the effort, for which the band had reportedly composed more than 18 tracks.
