Former HELLOWEEN Drummer Working On Fusion Project

July 26, 2004

Former HELLOWEEN/METALIUM drummer Mark Cross is currently working on a fusion project with Greek producer/engineer Hugo Varvoglis on bass/saxophone and Berklee graduate Peter Aslanidis on guitar. A few demos have already been recorded at the Hype Studios in Athens, Greece and the production is set for autumn this year.

Commented Cross: "I always wanted to do something like that, going through jazz and fusion grooves and combine my technical skills and present my drumming differently. It was hard to convince people that I'm not only the typical oriented metal drummer! I always had a heart and feel for odd beats and complicated timing. Now it's the time to release such an album and don't get me wrong, it won't be progressive rock!" Download an MP3 sample at this location.

In other news, the pre-production for the new WINTERS BANE album is done and Mark will be in the studio in England early August to record the final drum tracks.
