Former HALFORD Guitarist Hits The Road

October 23, 2003

PAINMUSEUM/HALFORD guitarist Metal Mike Chlasciak is hitting the road with a two-part series of heavy metal guitar clinics across Guitar Center, Sam Ash and Independent locations.

Metal Mike's Flurry Of Black Notes Clinic Tour 03/04 is a celebration of metal guitar. Metal Mike will perform selections from his solo catalogue, answer questions & talk about his equipment choices including demonstrations/ technical specs. Signing session will follow each performance. Giveaways throughout the clinics courtesy of the sponsors. Clinics are Free of charge, but are on first come first serve basis, so everyone is urged to be on time for best viewing spot.

"I'm not one to sit home and watch the grass grow, so I feel this clinic run is a killler way of doing something useful," Mike says. "I feel that at this point in my life I just want to play live as much as possible. With PAINMUSEUM touring beginning in 2004, my schedule allowed me to do this. Besides, it will be fun to kick everyone in the nuts with way too many notes and see the expression from the faces of kids who never heard anything past the trendy five bands that are shoved down their throats."

Sure, but what separates this from any other guitar hero clinic? "Metal, real metal," Mike responds. "This is going to be an opportunity to talk specifically about this type of music and the technical things behind it that make it all happen. Some stores that were approached about this clinic, once they heard it was a 'metal' clinic refused immediately. So a big thumbs up to the strong ones and our awesome sponsors who support this. This is going to be as close to a real live show as you can get. It won't be some 9-5 clinician sitting on a stool talking about his Lydian b7 mode. On top of that, I will play one or two tracks from the up-coming PAINMUSEUM album."
