Former ELITIST Head Honcho Slams EARACHE RECORDS

Former Elitist Records head honcho/founder Lee Barrett has accused former partners Earache Records of shady business practices and has blamed Earache for indirectly causing the demise of Elitist. Read Barrett's two separate online postings detailing some of his experiences dealing with Earache and the circumstances that led Elitist to eventually close its doors: Lamentations of the Flame Princess, Relapse Records (25th post; scroll to bottom of page).

Elitist was founded in 2002 as an imprint division of the legendary Earache label. It was solely A&Red by Barrett, the ex-owner of Candlelight Records and the person reportedly responsible for discovering such acts as EMPEROR, OPETH, ENSLAVED and many others.
