Former ANNIHILATOR Bassist Working On New DUSKMACHINE Material, Solo Project

May 9, 2006

Former ANNIHILATOR bassist Russ Bergquist — who was in the band between 1999 and 2003, and will be rejoining the group for their European summer tour — has posted the following message on his official web site:

"I have a few things to update on. I have been hanging out in Berlin doing some things with the DUSKMACHINE guys [the German thrash metal band featuring Bergquist and PRIMAL FEAR/ex-ANNIHILATOR drummer Randy Black]. Just going over a few ideas for the next album. We have no dates pertaining to the next recordings but we will start rehearsing for our next gig, this week. A one-off show at the Joch'n'Roll festival in Regenbogen/Hameln on May 13 (close to Hannover, Germany). We have no other shows planned at this time. While in Berlin I have also secured a one song session for German guitarist Rooky (Rooky.de). The style is progressive metal and this track will also feature Randy Black on drums. Rooky also has other noteable guests to appear on his debut album.

"Concerning my solo project, I have suffered some setbacks in the mixing process. But I will be returning to Vancouver where I have enlisted Vancouver producer/engineer Ken Burke to do the mix. Ken is an old buddy of mine and we grew up in the same town in good 'ole Saskatchewan, Canada. Also, I will be having some keyboards added to a couple of songs. Dave Young (DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND, TENWAYSFROMSUNDAY) will be doing these. I hope to post a song soon.

"Lastly, on July 1 I will fly over to Frankfurt Germany to start rehearsing for the upcoming ANNIHILATOR festival tour. There are a handfull of dates confirmed, but some are changing. For more info please see the ANNIHILATOR site at Annihilatormetal.com. Have a look in the 'on tour' section."
