Former AMEN Guitarist Resurfaces In "Heavy" New Band

Los Angeles-based BLUEBIRD, featuring former AMEN guitarist Paul Figueroa, are currently mixing their new album, entitled Hot Blood, with Joe Barresi (i.e. JESUS LIZARD, MELVINS, QOTSA) for a late 2002 release through Dim Mak Records.

"It's a multi-dimensional beast that will rip your heart out as well as your face off!," vocalist Samuel James Velde told Britain's Rock Sound magazine. "It's a roller-coaster of emotions. Heavy, raw, beautiful, dirty, soothing - there's a lot of human qualities to it!"

"It's a sonic mystery that's yet to be discovered," stated Fig about the band's music. "In the most common terms, BLUEBIRD is somewhere between FUGAZI and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE. Heavy!"
