Former ALICE IN CHAINS Guitarist Working With AEROSMITH Producer

Former ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist has finished demoing 13 new songs and is currently working on material for his upcoming solo CD with acclaimed songwriter/producer Marti Frederiksen (AEROSMITH, FAITH HILL, DEF LEPPARD). Cantrell just cut a new track called "Swine" with Frederiksen and ex-JANE'S ADDICTION bassist Chris Wyse and is said to be planning on completing the new CD by the fall.

As previously reported, Cantrell recently spent time at Doug Fieger's studio in Los Angeles recording new music with Wyse on bass and Stephen Perkins (ex-JANE'S ADDICTION) on drums. Cantrell's new tunes are said to be sounding "amazing," with one track reportedly featuring Doug Fieger on slide guitar.

Cantrell has just bought his first Los Angeles home which has been kept up in the vintage 1930s style. There is a guest house that will be turned into a studio. He is also scheduled to take part in a poker tournament in Las Vegas next month.

CARDBOARD VAMPYRES, the new "covers" band featuring Cantrell and ex-THE CULT guitarist Billy Duffy, will be opening for JUDAS PRIEST and QUEENSRĊ¸CHE on Saturday, July 2 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California.
