Former AFTER FOREVER Keyboardist Explains Decision To Leave Band

May 13, 2004

Former AFTER FOREVER keyboardist Lando van Gils has issued the following statement regarding his decision to leave the group:

"To all AFTER FOREVER fans,

"I'm very sorry to say that I'm parting as keyboard player for AFTER FOREVER. It has been a very difficult decision for me. And I'm still finding it hard. The band, the music and the gigs are just great. And I'll also miss the contacts with the fans a lot.

"I'm quitting because of personal reasons. We are being asked for big gigs and international performances more and more. Which is great to do but it also means you have to give yourself 100 percent. All in all these tours just don't give me the satisfaction I need to go on.

"In the last few years I've been able to work together with some excellent band- and crew-members. Many of which have become friends of mine. With AFTER FOREVER I've been on the biggest en most well known stages in the Netherlands and Europe. I'll also never forget the tour with AFTER FOREVER in Mexico. But most of all I'll miss the contacts with the band, crew and a lot of the loyal fans!

"On May 14th I'll make my last appearance as keyboard player for AFTER FOREVER in the Bosuil in Weert. I hope to see you all there.

"I'll definitely won't say goodbye to the music. I'll keep on writing songs, and maybe in the future play in another band. Who knows maybe I'll even come by for a guest appearance with AFTER FOREVER sometime.

"And of course you'll be able to meet me regularly at the AFTER FOREVER gigs. But then as a fan!

"See you all around!"

As previously reported, Gils' replacement in AFTER FOREVER is Joost v.d. Broek, formerly of SUN CAGED.
