FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Singer Making Screen Debut

January 20, 2009

According to The Pulse of Radio, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH singer Ivan Moody will make his acting debut in an upcoming horror film called "Bled", which premieres on DVD from Lionsgate on April 7. According to a press release, the film follows a young artist who is seduced by a strange man into taking an ancient drug, which in turn makes her the prey of a vampire-like creature from another dimension. Moody told The Pulse of Radio a little more about the movie and his role as the monster. "Our friend Scully was the screenwriter and co-directed the thing, and he called me up and he was like, 'You know, you would be perfect for this monster I'm, you know, cooking up,'" he said. "It's an incubus. I've gotta tell ya, man, I saw the trailer for it and it is absolutely intense. I'm the only monster in the movie, I'm the actual main villain."

Unsubstantiated rumors reported by Metal Sludge indicate that FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has parted ways with guitarist Darrell Roberts and replaced him with Jason Hook, although that has yet to be confirmed. Roberts previously played with W.A.S.P., TUFF, and a METALLICA tribute band called ALCOHOLICA, while Hook has performed with BULLETBOYS and MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH was recently cited as one of the breakout rock bands of 2008, with their debut album "The Way Of The Fist" selling more than a quarter of a million copies and producing three singles, including the new "Stranger Than Fiction".

The group will head to the U.K. and Europe for a tour next month, possibly to be followed by more U.S. dates. The band also hopes to get into the studio and begin writing a new record this spring.
