FIREWIND Guitarist Reports On Asian Tour

October 16, 2006

Greek metal act FIREWIND has just completed three successful shows in Taiwan and Japan. Guitarist Gus G. has issued the following report:

"We just got back home from an 18-hour trip from Tokyo.

"Our journey started out in Taiwan where we played the Indie 2006 Wild Scream festival. We had some unforgettable times there. The hospitality, the whole attitude of the people and the fans was amazing! Playing for the first time in Taiwan means a lot to us and many thanks go out to Sherry (sherry lady!),Nuno Chen and Dennis. You guys are the greatest, thank you for everything!

"Next was Japan. We landed in Tokyo on October 10th. The guys stayed in Tokyo while I continued my trip to Osaka where I did a guitar clinic for Musician's Institute (MI). Was great to once again meet my friends Tim Miller, Oishi and Takayoshi Ohmura (MI faculty). Next day back to Tokyo again and we rehearsed for the special event show at ESP Musical Academy. October 12th was a busy day. We shot a special DVD for Young Guitar magazine (should be included on one of their issues in the next couple of months),did lots of press and before we realized it, it was showtime! It was such a great feeling to play for our Japanese fans after two and a half years.

"The whole tour came to a climax with our show at the sold-out Loud Park festival. It was simply one of our best moments in our so-far career. We hit the stage at 17:00 and performed in front of something like 4,000 screaming metalheads. Pure arena rock!!!
"Special thanks to Kaz and Masako from King Records (U RULE!!),ESP guitars and Musical Adacemy, Louis and the Creative Man staff for being so supportive and good to us. We miss you already and can't wait to come back and play in Japan and Asia.

"The European tour is up next and we're as excited about it. See u soon in a town near you!"

FIREWIND's latest album, "Allegiance", entered the Greek album chart at position No. 10. The band, which was previously confirmed as the support act for the continental European tour of DRAGONFORCE, has also secured the opening slot on the U.K. portion of the trek (with ALL THAT REMAINS in the middle position).
