FIREWIND Guitarist Issues Post-European Tour Update

March 6, 2007

Greek melodic metal outfit FIREWIND has just completed a European tour with ANGRA and POWER QUEST.

Commented guitarist Gus G.: "The tour with ANGRA and POWER QUEST has been another fantastic experience! The French leg was amazing and we were stunned by how many FIREWIND fans showed up at all gigs. The Spanish and Portuguese dates were also very cool with highlights being Lisbon, Santiago and Barcelona. We're so looking forward to coming back and play for you next year! All bands and crew have been so cool to each other, there were no egos whatsoever and we even got to jam on stage with ANGRA in Toulouse! We played 'Smoke on the Water' and 'Come Together'. Thank you to all the fans for being so supportive."

In other news, FIREWIND has announced that they will appear at this year’s Frankfurt Musik Messe in Germany on March 30. The band will perform on the Pro Stage beginning at 14.00.

FIREWIND appearances and signing sessions at the Frankfurt Musik Messe:

March 28-31 - Gus G. + Bob Katsionis daily demonstrations at Elixir Strings booth
March 30 - FIREWIND Show on Pro Stage (14.00)
March 31 - Gus G. signing session at ESP booth (w/ Michael Amott of ARCH ENEMY, Shagrath and Silenoz of DIMMU BORGIR) (14.00)

As previously reported. FIREWIND has begun work on a video for the song "Breaking the Silence" featuring a guest appearance by female singer Tara Teresa. The clip is being helmed by acclaimed director Patric Ullaeus (LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR),who previously worked with the group on their video for the track "Falling to Pieces".

FIREWIND singer Apollo Papathanasio was recently forced to sit out a part of the band's World Allegiance Tour due to a family emergency. His temporary replacement for the the last seven dates of the band's current tour with ANGRA and POWERQUEST was Henning Basse of METALIUM.

FIREWIND will make its highly anticipated U.S. debut at ProgPower USA, which takes place in Atlanta on Oct. 5-6, 2007. The group has also launched their own YouTube page (Fire TV),which features some exclusive material and their new "Falling to Pieces" video. Click here to check it out.
