FIREWIND Announces U.S. Tour

April 2, 2007

This fall, FIREWIND pledges their allegiance to their U.S. fans by scheduling their first ever trip stateside. This Greek metal powerhouse is set to kick things off on September 19 by performing alongside EPICA and VISIONS OF ATLANTIS, which will be immediately followed by a week-long headlining run leading them into a limited number of shows with SONATA ARCTICA. The U.S. tour will ultimately be capped off with a performance at the prestigious ProgPower USA festival.

Gus G. (guitar) states: "I'm very excited about coming to the U.S. with FIREWIND for the first time! We will be doing a few shows supporting SONATA ARCTICA, as well as a couple of one offs supporting EPICA and EDGUY. To top it off we'll even get to play a few headline shows before wrapping it up at the now sold out ProgPower festival in Atlanta. We are all really looking forward to this and hope to see you all soon."

As previously reported. FIREWIND has begun work on a video for the song "Breaking the Silence" featuring a guest appearance by female singer Tara Teresa. The clip is being helmed by acclaimed director Patric Ullaeus (LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR),who previously worked with the group on their video for the track "Falling to Pieces".

FIREWIND singer Apollo Papathanasio was recently forced to sit out a part of the band's World Allegiance Tour due to a family emergency. His temporary replacement for the the last seven dates of the band's European tour with ANGRA and POWERQUEST was Henning Basse of METALIUM.
