Finnish Metal Awards 2004: First Details Revealed

The 2004 installment of the Finnish Metal Music Awards (Sirkkelirock 2004) will be held at the Tavastia club in Helsinki on January 8, 2005. The line-up of performers for the event is currently being finalized and is expected to be announced soon.

This year, the metal fans are being invited to vote for the "Metal Capital of Finland" as well as participate in selecting the recipient of the "Lifetime Achievement Award". Details of the voting categories, voting "machines" on the Internet, plus the magazine coupons where fans can cast their vote will be released soon.

At last year's event, CHILDREN OF BODOM took home the "Finnish Band of the Year" award, while IRON MAIDEN were named "Best International Band". In addition, Sirkkelirock presented a special "Lifetime Achievement Award" to CANNIBAL CORPSE for their contributions to the metal music genre.
