Finland's SAUNA OPEN AIR Festival Off To A Great Start

Finnish metal festival Sauna Open Air is well on its way to selling out after more than 5,000 tickets to the three-day event were sold the first day the tickets went on sale. The 10,000-capacity festival is scheduled to take place June 9-11 in Tampere, Finland and will include performances by SLAYER, DIO, MEGADETH and SENTENCED, among others. A total of 25 bands will take part in the festivities, which will include parties at various clubs in the evenings and afternoons.

"The metal scene is very strong in Finland and lots of great Finnish bands — SONATA ARCTICA, MOONSORROW, NORTHER — will perform at the festival," said promoter Jussi Santalahti. "Sauna Open Air is growing fast and it is great to see that even in its second year, it has the headliners that are scheduled to play at Sweden Rock, Gods of Metal and Download festivals the same weekend."
