FIFTH ANGEL: Unofficial Web Site Launched

June 26, 2006

FifthAngel.net, the unofficial home to all information regarding the Seattle metal band FIFTH ANGEL, has been launched. Created and compiled by Seattle metal historian Brian Heaton (the curator of BreakdownRoom.net, a database of fellow Seattle rockers' QUEENSRŸCHE's live concert history),FifthAngel.net features a detailed band history and discography, along with various news clippings from FIFTH ANGEL's career. James Byrd, FIFTH ANGEL's original lead guitar player, assisted by contributing many of the details behind the band's history during his time with the group.

"I'm extremely grateful to Byrd for taking the time to make sure the historical essay on FIFTH ANGEL I had written was factually accurate," Heaton said. "He was really accessible and happy to assist. I can't say enough about how important his contributions were to the site."

FIFTH ANGEL was formed in 1983 by James Byrd (lead guitar),Ken Mary (drums) and Ted Pilot (vocals). The band released its debut album in 1986 on Shrapnel Records, becoming an instant cult classic after receiving positive reviews from Kerrang! magazine. The band was signed by Epic Records shortly thereafter and the label remixed and re-released FIFTH ANGEL's self-titled debut in 1988. In 1989, a follow-up album, "Time Will Tell", was released, featuring "Midnight Love" — the introductory song to Howard Stern's late-night TV program.
