EYEHATEGOD Announce UK Dates

July 25, 2002

New Orleans sludge-meisters EYEHATEGOD have announced the dates for their forthcoming UK tour around their appearance at the second Morrowfest, a festival-type event organized as a tribute to late MURDER ONE/ex-IRON MONKEY frontman Johnny Morrow. The details are as follows:

Aug. 17 – Newport, UK @ TJ's
Aug. 18 – Nottingham, UK @ Rock City
Aug. 19 – London, UK @ Underworld
Aug. 20 – Manchester, UK @ Roadhouse
Aug. 21 – Glasgow, UK @ Cathouse
Aug. 22 – Bradford, UK @ Rios

EYEHATEGOD were reportedly the former IRON MONKEY frontman's favorite band of all time, and are said to be donating their time and services free of charge, barring the cost of flying the group over from the States (hence the additional UK dates).

In other news, EYEHATEGOD vocalist Mike Williams will reportedly be arriving in the UK in advance of his bandmates and joining the members of MYWAR (who feature Sean Duggan from HARD TO SWALLOW, ARMOUR OF GOD and VARUKERS, Scott Briggs from BIG SISTER and Marvin from CHAOS UK, VARUKERS, ARMOUR OF GOD and CONCRETE SOX, among others) to rehearse and record tracks for an album that at one point was also set to include an appearance by Morrow. MYWAR will not be able to perform at either Morrowfest, but will reportedly support EYEHATEGOD and LABRAT at all other dates.

Due to EYEHATEGOD guitarist Jimmy Bower's commitments with DOWN, he will not be appearing with EYEHATEGOD on this tour. However, for the purposes of these dates, bassist Gary Mader (ex-HAWG JAW) will be taking on guitar duties, while the aforementioned Marvin (VARUKERS/ex-CHAOS UK) will be taking up the low end.
