EXODUS To Appear On Animated Series 'Metalocalypse'

August 10, 2007

EXODUS frontman Rob Dukes has issued the following update:

"My dream came true yesterday. I was on a cartoon — myself and all the guys from EXODUS got to be in an episode of [the animated series] 'Metalocalypse', the greatest cartoon of all time. If I died today it would be all good. All the people that work there are just awesome. If you have not seen the show yet, it's on Adult Swim on Sunday nights on the Cartoon Network, and sometimes during the week. It depends on Adult Swim and they change the shows they air from week to week. And if you have not seen it yet, you fucking suck."

Created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha, "Metalocalypse" (web site) follows the on- and off-stage adventures of DETHKLOK, an incredibly talented and insanely popular (fictional) Norwegian heavy metal band. DETHKLOK boasts the lineup of vocalist Nathan Explosion (lyrical visionary),Skwisgaar Skwigelf and Toki Wartooth (two of the fastest guitarists alive),bassist William Murderface and drummer Pickles — the soul of the band. Not really.

EXODUS played two brand new songs — "Bedlam 123" and "Funeral Hymn" — during their appearance Wednesday night (August 8) at the Showcase Theater in Corona, California. Watch video footage of both tracks on YouTube:

EXODUS has completed work on its new album, tentatively due before the end of the year via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California with producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, MACHINE HEAD, NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY).

In a brand new interview with MetroActive.com, EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt stated about the group's new CD, "When you hear the new one, you'll realize that very few bands are able to put out back-to-back to back releases with the fire and intensity of ours. The new album is a genre-defining moment for us and thrash in general, and we as a band feel more inspired and motivated than any time before."

EXODUS will embark on a North American headlining tour in January/February. Support on the trek will come from GOATWHORE, ARSIS and WARBRINGER. Tickets are on sale now exclusively through EnterTheVault.com until September 4 at which point they will be available through all normal ticketing outlets. Tickets for the Atlanta (January 31) and San Francisco (February 24) shows will go on sale on August 12.

Holt recently released his first-ever instructional DVD, "A Lesson in Guitar Violence", through Zaentz. The disc, which contains never-before-seen live footage from 1985 at the Dynamo Club in Holland, can be ordered at The Exodus Store.
