EXODUS Guitarist Does Not Endorse Brazil's 'Fuck Off Zetro' Festival

September 21, 2004

EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt has distanced himself from the Brazlian "Fuck Off Zetro" festival being staged by aggrieved bands originally scheduled to act as support on EXODUS' recently postponed South American tour.

The event, the name of which refers to former EXODUS singer Steve "Zetro" Souza, (whose departure from the group led to the last-minute cancellation of the tour),is scheduled to take place on September 25 in Belo Horizonte and is expected to feature performances from DROWNED, BETRAYER, HELLTRUCKER, ABSOLUTE DISGRACE and PERPETUAL DUSK.

Writing to EXODUS' official message board, Gary said, "That is totally ridiculous! I in no way support such a festival and think it's pretty fucking weak to waste their time doing such a show. As some of you have already seen, I've recieved a sort of hate letter from one fan, so to say some of them are pissed off is an understatement. But I've said it before and I'll say it again. I love Brazil, I love the people, the fans, everything. But we don't know the lengths some of them go to go see a show. We're talking hours of driving in some cases. But I sincerely hope they put an end to this festival, and I definantly hope they still welcome us back in October."
