EXODUS Frontman: What I Did On My Summer Vacation

September 29, 2006

After EXODUS toured Europe and returned home this summer, drummer Paul Bostaph hit the road with TESTAMENT, and singer Rob Dukes simply hit the road. Here's an update from the newly crowned Road King:

"After our last tour, which was fucking insane but the stories are great - everything from cops raiding the bus to getting thrown off planes and fighting with the passengers on the way off to knocking out some drunken asshole in Germany, where to begin...

"The band flew back to Cali, I went to New York, and me and one of my closest friends got on our motorcycles (I was on an F4; he has a Superhawk) and we started on a six-week journey which took us to three countries, 36 states, and 14,652 miles. We went to the four corners of the United States and 12 national parks, scuba diving in Key West, then Austin, Roswell, and Carlsbad. I went gliding over The Rockies in Boulder, we the rode through the Grand Canyon, Zion Park, Monument Valley, Brice Canyon, Marble Canyon, down to the most southwest corner in Tijuana then to Los Angeles, and then all the way to Vancouver... then through Montana, Yellowstone, Badlands, and a really cool place called Beartooth Pass (my personal favorite),then all the way to the corner of Maine, then back to New York. My buddy got two speeding tickets; I got zero. We got pulled over six times and I talked my way out of it. I almost dragged some asshole out of his car and beat him to death, so he called the cops. Nothing came of it; he dropped the charges (don't swerve into a bike just because you're stuck in traffic and we're not, motherfucker). After awhile, we just didn't pull over anymore. Our average speed was about double the posted speed limit... big sweeping turns at 120 mph... fucking awesome!!! It was the trip of a lifetime, and I took it. Next trip is Morocco to Cape Town, or maybe New York to Alaska via Canada."

EXODUS is currently on the Jagermeister-sponsored Monsters Of Mayhem tour with HATEBREED, NAPALM DEATH, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, DESPISED ICON, and FIRST BLOOD. This is the last North American tour in support of "Shovel Headed Kill Machine". On November 1, EXODUS will begin its year-end European tour in the U.K. and make its way throughout the continent.
