Ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS Members To Join FILTER frontman RICHARD PATRICK?

July 13, 2005

According to a posting on the STONE TEMPLE PILOTS fan site Below Empty, the rumors of Robert and Dean DeLeo (both formerly of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS) joining FILTER frontman Richard Patrick have been gaining strength this week. Richard has been complimenting Dean's guitar playing in recent interviews, even calling him one of his three favorite guitarists ever, and in a recent posting on the official FILTER web site, Patrick makes a comment about rehearsing with his new band, whom he has shared the stage with only once before.

Many people are taking this last hint as a reference to the October 12, 2001 concert in Chicago, when Richard joined STONE TEMPLE PILOTS on stage to perform the FILTER classic "Hey Man, Nice Shot". So far, there have been no official words on the new members of the FILTER lineup. All that is known is that Frank Cavanagh and Geno Lenardo have left to work with other bands and that Richard Patrick is working with new, but well-known, rock musicians.
