Ex-SKID ROW Drummer's 'Waking Up Dead' Documentary: U.S. Theatrical Premiere Announced

July 15, 2005

The U.S. theatrical premiere of "Waking Up Dead", the new documentary starring former SAIGON KICK/SKID ROW drummer Phil Varone, will take place on Friday, August 26 at Tribeca Cinemas in New York City. Following the premiere there will be a huge party in Tribeca featuring bands from the movie performing live. Also present for the showing will be Varone and director Fabio Jafet as well as other people featured in the film. The premiere will be open to the public. More information on Tribeca Cinemas can be found at www.tribecacinemas.com. Other U.S. cities are expected to be added on September 2.

Jafet says: "'Waking Up Dead' is an unprecedented backstage pass into the music business. Only a small minority of artists achieves true professional and financial success. This film is a hard look at what happens when your dreams just don’t come true. It is the real life rise and fall of a rock star."

The film takes the viewer through four turbulent years in the life of Phil Varone, former drummer for the rock bands SAIGON KICK and SKID ROW.

Varone says, "I traded everything … my family, friends and finances … all for my addictions and the world of sex, drugs and rock and roll. 'Waking Up Dead' is a great lesson on life for anyone who watches it."

A preview of "Waking Up Dead" may be seen on the film's web site, WakingUpDeadMovie.com.

"Waking Up Dead" is a production of Eris/PTP Productions. It will be distributed domestically by Celebration Pictures Inc., a subsidiary of Film And Music Entertainment, Inc. It will be distributed internationally through Celebration International Pictures.
