June 4, 2009

Tony Kelly of "Glam Slam Radio Show" recently conducted an interview with former SCORPIONS drummer Herman Rarebell. Tony and Herman discuss various subjects including banned SCORPIONS album covers, why Herman decided to ultimately leave the SCORPIONS and his new project HERMAN ZE GERMAN. The chat is now available for streaming and/or download at this location.

HERMAN ZE GERMAN has scheduled the following dates:

July 10 - Rocklahoma - Pryor, OK (Retrospect Stage Headliner)
July 17 - Mississippi Mud House - Cape Girardeau, MO
July 18 - Heartbreakers - St. Louis, MO

The group's current lineup is as follows:

Herman Rarebell (SCORPIONS) - Drums
Duke Jackson (STRIKEFORCE) - Guitar
Timexx Nasty (DRIVIN' RAIN, BEGGARS JURY) - Vocals
Joe Council (STRIKEFORCE, PUSH) – Bass

HERMAN ZE GERMAN' setlist will include the following SCORPIONS classics, among others:

* "Rock you like a Hurricane"
* "Blackout"
* "Another Piece of Meat"
* "He's a Woman, She's a Man"
* "Passion Rules The Game"
* "Make It Real"
* "Loving You Sunday Morning"

In an interview with Classic Rock Revisited, Rarebell stated about the huge commercial success of SCORPIONS' 1982 album "Blackout", "Mercury Records was totally behind us and they believed in us. They wanted us to keep making albums. They wanted us to grow and do better each time out. 'Lovedrive' went gold. 'Animal Magnetism' went gold and then 'Blackout' was the first one to go platinum. Schenker/ Meine/ Rarebell was a great songwriting team. You can see that from how many successful albums we had. After I left the band, they didn't have any more hits."
