Ex-MEGADETH Guitarist CHRIS POLAND Checks In

October 3, 2006

Former MEGADETH guitarist Chris Poland has posted the following message in the "Megadeth Alumni" section of the band's official web site:

"Just checking in! Met up with Glen Drover [current MEGADETH guitarist] a couple of weeks ago and had some fun playing some MEGADETH tunes in my studio. I sure wouldn't want to be the one in his shoes playing all the different guitar parts from me, Jeff [Young], Marty [Friedman], and Al [Pitrelli]! That really is a lot of work!!!

"Speaking of work... haven't even had the time to check in here as we [Poland's OHM: project] are working on a new CD. Little heavier this time, maybe a bit more HENDRIX-like here and there. Joel Taylor's drum parts are almost finished. Kofi Baker will be coming in to finish the rest of the drum tracks for the new CD.

"Speaking of new CDs... Lion Music will be releasing a live recording of 'Return To Metalopolis' which will also include bonus tracks of new unreleased material.

"I haven't had a chance to tell you all how happy I was when I heard 'The System Has Failed' for the first time after recording it. That was a lot of fun making that album with Dave [Mustaine]!

"Anyway, this is my first post on the MEGADETH site. I want to thank Rob Shay (El Duce) for setting this up for me and keeping some of the MEGADETH alumni in touch with the fans. You guys are great! Thanks for everything!"

"Return to Metalopolis - Live" is scheduled for release in 2007 on Lion Music. The disc will feature unreleased studio and live tracks from this era of Chris' career as well as video footage.

Poland's OHM: project is currently in the studio recording the follow-up to "Amino Acid Flashback".
