Ex-HAMMERFALL Bassist Playing Three Solo Concerts In Svalbard

September 10, 2010

Swedish bassist Magnus Rosén (REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE, HAMMERFALL, X-WORLD/5, FULLFORCE) has just embarked on his second tour performing a one-man solo bass show. This time it's off to Svalbard in the northernmost part of Norway (about midway between mainland Norway and the North Pole) where Magnus is playing three concerts.

"To have this wonderful opportunity to see the world with music is a privilege," Rosén says. "Solo bass is, after all, a very narrow field of music."

Magnus, who toured China earlier in the year, added, "It's just fantastic to have the opportunity to convey my music all over the world and I am really looking forward to gigs in Svalbard."

The first of three concerts is being held tonight (Friday, September 10) in Långebyn in Svalbard, a town that was built with only 1200 inhabitants.

"Svalbard is the world's northernmost inhabited spot which makes it feel extra special to play there," says Rosén.

In addition to performing, Magnus will talk about what it's like to be involved in music and he will discuss his charity work.

On Monday, September 13, Magnus will return to Sweden. Five days later (on Saturday, September 18),he will perform at a cultural promotion concert at Royal Sweden Hong Kong Business Council alognside the Chinese concert pianist Colleen Lee.
