Ex-DIMMU BORGIR/CRADLE OF FILTH Drummer NICK BARKER Pays Tribute To JESSE PINTADO

September 1, 2006

Drummer Nick Barker (DIMMU BORGIR, CRADLE OF FILTH, LOCKUP) has sent the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET regarding the passing of TERRORIZER/ex-NAPALM DEATH guitarist Jesse Pintado:

"I've just finished touring Europe with MORBID ANGEL when I heard the devastating and shocking news about my longtime friend and ex-bandmate Jesse Pintado's untimely death.

"What can I say???? I'm absolutely numb with pain and I can only imagine how his dear family must be feeling right now. I knew Jesse for many years and it's really difficult for me at this very dark and empty moment in time to think, let alone write, but I have to, despite the overwhelming feeling of sadness and great loss upon us all who knew Jesse and loved him dearly as a friend and as a brother. We shared so many great times together over the years at home in Birmingham/Los Angeles, around the world, on stage, on tour and in the studio. So many memories…

"As I write this tribute, I keep hearing Jesse's voice in my head, his laugh, stupid goofball shit we used to say to each other for our own amusement and having flashbacks of all the killer times we shared, situations and places we've been.

"My deepest heartfelt sympathies and condolences go out the his wonderful family in California, and of course, his extended family in Birmingham and all who knew him dearly around the world.

"I LOVE YOU BRO, AND YOUR MEMORY WILL BE FOREVER IN MY HEART.

"R.I.P AMIGO"

Pintado died last weekend in a hospital in Holland, a spokesperson for TERRORIZER's record label, Century Media Records, has confirmed. More information will be made available soon.
