Ex-CELTIC FROST Guitarist RON MARKS 'Had No Involvement' With 'Cold Lake' Release

February 28, 2008

Nexiardé Music, which currently represents former CELTIC FROST guitarist Ron Marks and his solo project SUBSONIC, has released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"As the management company and record label for Ron Marks and his project SUBSONIC we would like to put forward the following statement:

"Among some 100-plus applicants, Ron Marks was invited to join CELTIC FROST slightly before the release of 'Into The Pandemonium'. To help announce this, Tom Fischer, Martin Ain and Reed St. Mark graciously chose a band photo including Ron for the back cover of the limited-edition 'I Won't Dance' release on vinyl.

"After months of rehearsals in the infamous 'bunker,' a warm-up show was played at Zurich's Z33 Club before the band headlined their UK tour. Weeks later, CELTIC FROST co-headlined with EXODUS and opened for ANTHRAX in the U.S., concluding the 'One In Their Pride' tours.

"Ron had no involvement with the 'Cold Lake' release.

"After this, Tom asked Ron to return and help co-write and record 'Vanity/Nemesis'. Ron co-wrote 'The Restless Seas', 'Nemesis' and 'A Descent To Babylon', and played lead and rhythm guitar throughout this release.

"A great shot by photographer George Chin was later chosen for the back cover of Tom Fischer's book 'Are You Morbid (Into The Pandemonium Of Celtic Frost)'. Tom also included numerous photos of Ron with bandmates and friends. Tom describes Ron's music talents as 'God-given.'

"Page 43 of 'The Encyclopedia Of Heavy Metal' by Daniel Bukszpan (Barnes & Noble Books) features a photo of CELTIC FROST (backstage at the Beacon Theater, NYC) during the band's 'One In Their Pride' U.S. tour, and a brief overview of the band's history.

"As Ron's management and label, we would be blind to ignore his past with this legendary band. But we also understand that Ron Marks' career was decided years before joining CELTIC FROST, as a life's work.

"SUBSONIC will soon release several diverse CDs and DVDs (old and new),which will be available worldwide. Plans for a very unique UK tour, with opening act SHEBANGG, are also in the works. Ron is slated to produce SHEBANGG's first release during summer 2008.

"Ron would also like to pass on his thanks and appreciation for all those that have supported him through the years and we hope you enjoy the new music."

SUBSONIC will release its third album, "Blood Groove", on March 1 via Nexiardé Music. The CD will be available to download through TuneTribe.com and physical copies will be available from the online store at Nexiarde.bigcartel.com.

Nexiardé Music CEO Geno de Lora states, "I am proud to be working with such a talented musician as Ron. 'Blood Groove' is a strong and diverse album, highlighting why Ron is one of the industries best songwriters and arrangers. This album will be an excellent addition to every discerning rock fan's collection."

Further releases from SUBSONIC will also be available on the Nexiardé label in the coming months.
