Ex-CANNIBAL CORPSE Guitarist JACK OWEN: I Am Not Joining DEICIDE

November 28, 2004

DEICIDE touring guitarist Jack Owen (ex-CANNIBAL CORPSE) has sent the following update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"Jack Owen checking in from Eindhoven Holland with an update on the DEICIDE European tour. Things are clicking now. Picking up steam as we head to the U.K. for a week's worth of shows. People were waiting to see if the band was actually showing up for the first couple shows, but as word spread of our return, the venues have been packed every night with DEICIDE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, and VITAL REMAINS fans.

"Glen has mentioned that the setlist has grown, and it has. We have about 18 songs we can do each night, spanning every album. We're doing everything from 'Lunatic of God's Creation' and 'Sacrificial Suicide', from the first album, to 'Scars of the Crucifix' and 'When Heaven Burns' from the new album. We continue to learn more songs that the band hasn't done in years. Everyone is in a great mood, since it's well known that the Hoffmans and Glen haven't been getting along for years. It is fun for me, since I've known Glen and Steve for years, since the beginnings of DEICIDE and CANNIBAL CORPSE. And I've also known Dave [Suzuki, VITAL REMAINS] for years. So all in all, it is a blast. Cheers to Glen and Steve for calling me up and asking me to do this — it's an honor...

"People have a general confusion as to my status. I quit CANNIBAL CORPSE after 15 years of success and prosperity. No bad feelings, no musical differences. I just needed to move on. Then, they think I have joined DEICIDE, but I am only helping out for this tour and possibly a South American tour in 2005. My full time band is ADRIFT, and there are many discussions on our forum about why I quit CANNIBAL. Check out our website at www.adrift.cc. Drop by the website and drop by a DEICIDE show if you happen to see us coming your way."
