Swedish metal legends ENTOMBED will make an exclusive U.K. appearance at the first-ever Damnation Festival on October 16, 2005 at Jilly's Rockworld, Manchester. The death 'n' roll titans will headline the newly sponsored Terrorizer Stage as the U.K.'s leading extreme metal magazine and finest U.K.-focused festival combine forces. They will be joined by grindcore monsters GUTWORM to complete a bill packed with extreme British talent, including GOREROTTED, NAILED and power metallers CONQUEST OF STEEL. The headline performance will be ENTOMBED's only U.K. festival date in 2005.
The band were forced to pull out of their scheduled tour earlier this year, which would have seen them play to a packed Jilly's Rockworld in April. However, they have promised to make up for the disappointment with a memorable display come October 16.
GUTWORM's frontman Neil Hudson had the following to say regarding his band's showing at Damnation Festival: "Crikey, look at the line-up! We're chuffed to be on this show, and we are looking forward to sharing the stage with these great bands."
Meanwhile groove-drenched stoners THE INBREDS have been added to the Main Stage bill, joining the like of PANIC CELL and FOURWAYKILL. And not content with just building on their enviable reputation as a killer live band, they aim to blow the rest of the bill away backstage as well.
Guitarist Dean said: "Stone the satanic crow! We are damn chuffed to be bringing the stoner grooves to Damnation Festival. "The line-up is great and ENTOMBED are one of the reasons THE INBREDS got into this business! It's good to see British talent on the show, there's far too many Yanks and Europeans on the U.K. festivals.
"Oh, and we challenge all the other bands to a drinking competition, last band standing wins, and any band that has already played with us knows we rarely lose."
Damnation Festival will take place at Jilly's Rockworld, Manchester, on October 16, 2005. The full line up for the Terrorizer Stage is:
