ENGEL: Behind-The-Scenes Footage From 'Six Feet Deep' Video Shoot

November 1, 2010

Behind-the-scenes footage from the making of "Six Feet Deep", the new video from ENGEL — the Gothenburg, Sweden-based quintet featuring guitarists Marcus Sunesson (THE CROWN) and Niclas Engelin (PASSENGER, ex-GARDENIAN, IN FLAMES),vocalist Mangan Klavborn, drummer Jimmy Olausson (ex-MARIONETTE) and bassist Steve Drennan (AMON AMARTH, LOCUS) — can be viewed below.

Commented the band: "The video was filmed in two locations with a single-shot camera and the idea was to make something very creative and fun, of course, and shot in one day.

"In this day and age videos still remain an important part of the music-making process and, of course, a very competitive one. To us it's important to always be involved in every aspect of creating these projects from story board, filming, financing etc. As always, PA Nilsson is the man we trust to help make our vision happen and [we are] still not sure how he does it but [are] honored to work with such an amazing filmmaker, director, editor and all-around great guy!"

"Six Feet Deep" comes off ENGEL's long-awaited second album, "Threnody", which will be released in Europe on November 8 and in the U.S. on January 11, 2011 via Season Of Mist. The CD was issued in Japan on April 20, 2010 via Avex.

"Threnody" track listing:

01. Six Feet Deep
02. Sense The Fire
03. For Those Who Will
04. Feed The Weak
05. To The End
06. Every Sin (Leaves A Mark)
07. Down
08. Heartsick
09. Threnody
10. Burn
11. Perfect Isis

ENGEL recorded "Threnody" at PUK studio in Gjerlev, Denmark with producer Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, HIMSA, SICK OF IT ALL).

The band was previously signed to SPV Records which issued ENGEL's debut album, "Absolute Design", in 2007.

ENGEL recently parted ways with drummer Daniel "Mojjo" Moilanen and replaced him with Olausson.

Regarding the change in the band's lineup, ENGEL said in a statement, "It is always difficult for any band when someone leaves, and, of course, it is always difficult to find an ideal replacement but in this instance we are extremely honored to have found Jimmy not just for his ability as an outstanding drummer but with an outstanding personality to match. His contribution to ENGEL already has been immense and refreshing as he brings something new and exciting behind the kit which was exactly what we have been looking for!

"Change will always be part of any bands growth and development but as always we are looking to the future and the continued success of ENGEL and with Jimmy Olausson we are more than confident that he is perfect in this role. It is already a pleasure to have him in our ranks!"
