EMERALD To Enter Studio This Month

Swiss melodic metallers EMERALD will enter Little Creek studios in Gelterkinden (Baselland), Switzerland on May 17 with producer V.O. Pulver (POLTERGEIST, DESTRUCTION, GURD) to begin recording their fifth album, "Re-Forged", for a late fall/winter release through Pure Steel Records/Twilight. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "The Last Legion", "Witches Tower", "Secret Agenda", "The One", "Mark Of The Beast", "The Wanderer" and "Mutiny". According to a press release, "There will be no change in style; still the pure '80s heavy metal rules."

EMERALD last year parted ways with vocalist/guitarist Jvo Julmy due to musical differences. He has since been replaced by Manuel Werro (SHROUDSHIFTER, FATHERFUCKERS) on second guitar and Thomas Winkler (T-RAGE) on vocals.

EMERALD's fourth album, "Hymns to Steel", was released in September 2007 through Pure Steel Records.
