ELVENKING To Enter Studio In March

American/German producer Dennis Ward (ANGRA, PINK CREAM 69, PRIMAL FEAR) will helm the new album from Italian metallers ELVENKING. The recordings will start on March 20 at Piranha studios in Karsdolf, Germany. Mat Sinner (PRIMAL FEAR, SINNER) will executive-produce the CD, which is tentatively due in September.

On the live front, ELVENKING will play at the Italian Headbangers Fest with 10 other Italian bands like DGM, SECRET SPHERE and TRICK OR TREAT. The dates are as follows:

April 24 - Stazione Birra - Rome, ITA
April 25 - Matrioska – Modena, ITA

ELVENKING last fall announced the addition of session violin player Lethien to the group's ranks.

Back in September, 2007, ELVENKING explained that Elyghen had temporarily moved to Ireland for working reasons. They emphasized that he wasn't leaving the band and that Eleonora (the girl who had played the violin in the quartet that performed on ELVENKING albums) would help the band out on live dates that Elyghen couldn't be present for.

ELVENKING released an acoustic album, "Two Tragedy Poets (...And A Caravan Of Weird Figures)", in Europe on November 14, 2008 via AFM Records. The CD was issued in digipack and jewel case formats.

ELVENKING's last "electric" album, "The Scythe", was released in Europe in September 2007 via AFM Records.

The band's video for the song "The Divided Heart" can be viewed below. The clip was shot with director Mirco Andreis (ELDRITCH, MACBETH, DISARMONIA MUNDI).

"The Scythe" was mixed at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki, Finland. The mastering took place at Finnvox Studios with Mika Jussila and Nino Laurenne.
