ELVENKING Cancel METAL INVADERS FESTIVAL Appearance

May 22, 2005

Italian folk/power metal band ELVENKING were forced to cancel their previously announced appearance at the Metal Invaders Festival in Italy on Saturday, May 21 "due to seasonal illness." "The band feels verry sorry about this and hopes that all the ones who'd have been present Saturday will soon have the opportunity to see ELVENKING live on another occasion," the group write on their web site.

ELVENKING are continuing work on their third album, tentatively due in the fall via AFM Records. The latest installment of the group's studio diary, featuring video clips and photos from the recording sessions, can be found at Elvenking.net.

The follow-up to 2004's "Wyrd" is being recorded at the group's own Sherpa Studios while the mixing will take place at Sonic Pump studios in Finland with Nino Laurenne (THUNDERSTONE, WINTERSUN). The final mastering will be handled by Mika Jussila at Finnvox in Helsinki. Cover artwork and booklet layout are being designed by Hungarian artist Havancsák Gyula (ANNIHILATOR, GRAVE DIGGER).

ELVENKING recently announced the departure of guitarist Jarpen. For the time being, the group will go on as a five-piece.
