ELEKTRIK MISTRESS Reconsider Break-Up Plans

Despite a previous announcement to the contrary, Canadian "stoner rockers" ELEKTRIK MISTRESS will carry on with a new line-up, which presently drummer Shannon Boone and bassist Jeff "Hippie". According to Stoner Rock, guitarist/vocalist Kurt Kuthe originally thought a name change would be in order, but decided against it. "I liked the name to much," Kurt said. "We have a really cool website, and we've had a few labels showing interest, We were YTV's band of the month, we've got Spinebuster Entertainment and various other PR companies working for us...

"The new songs we are working on are killer, plus I wrote over 13 new songs with the old guys before they hung themselves," Kuthe added. "Those are the demos Chris Goss and Terry Brown have, both of which are considering producing the new CD in the new year...depending on scheduling.

"I met with Goss' rep again last week when QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE came through Toronto and it's all just a matter of timing...so we'll see what happens? Until the end of the year we are just gonna write, jam, play a few shows, and hang... I'm also producing this new band called STATE OF MIND out of Detroit, who I signed to my label ERR.... They fuckin' just tear it up. I'm also involved in various side projects as well as working on a horror movie with Mass Productions, Designing bands websites, and I'm working on a movie score..."
