EDDIE VEDDER And ZACH DE LA ROCHA Named As ROCK HALL Presenters

March 2, 2007

Launch Radio Networks reports: Eddie Vedder and Zach De La Rocha have been tapped to be a presenters at this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Vedder will do the honors for R.E.M., while De La Rocha will stand up for PATTI SMITH. They join fellow rockers VELVET REVOLVER, who will be on hand to make the presentation to VAN HALEN.

As previously reported, VELVET REVOLVER will also perform in VAN HALEN's place at the event, but there's no word yet on whether De La Rocha and Vedder have any musical plans for the night.

Also being honored this year are the vocal group the RONETTES, who will be inducted by ROLLING STONES guitarist Keith Richards; and rap pioneers GRANDMASTER FLASH & THE FURIOUS FIVE, who will have modern-day hip-hop icon Jay-Z do their presentation.

In addition, there will be a surprise performance to honor the late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, who died in December at age 83.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place March 12 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. It will air live on VH1 Classic beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET.
