E-FORCE: Studio Update

November 21, 2006

E-FORCE, the band featuring former VOIVOD bassist/vocalist Eric Forrest, recently entered the studio in Toulouse, France with producer Patrick Freidrich to begin recording its sophomore album, tentatively due in early 2007 via France's Thundering Records. Forrest has sent the following recording update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"We have been just doing the tracks on the weekend, which has been really cool!!
Giving everyone a little break between the sessions, which is good to clear the ears and brain for a solid performance... Rhythm guitars/guitar solos/bass/bass solos have been completed as well as some acoustic additions and five songs on vocals...

"Honestly, besides Paul Gilbert/Zakk Wylde… OK, OK, Yngwie also, I have never heard any other 19-year-old guitarist play so proficient and accurate [referring to E-FORCE guitarist Cyril Bernhard — Ed.]... What is amazing is this young lad's modest, humble, intelligent attitude towards music and life in general. He reminds me a bit like Away [VOIVOD drummer Michel 'Away' Langevin] in a way… As most (but not all) guitar players I have worked with in the past have had huge egos etc. Not the case here.

"Finishing the vocals later this week, then it is time for Boris [Lugan] to bash out some killer drum beats. With his Cavalera/Portnoy/Terry Bozzio influences, it should be interesting to hear the final takes. Patrick Freidrich will then begin the mixing in early December."

As previously reported, E-FORCE have posted three songs from their 2006 demo on their MySpace.com page. Check out the tracks "Lobotomized", "Agent 99" and "Exterminator" at this location.

E-FORCE's next album release is expected to include collaborations with Alex of AGRESSOR as well as Tim and Kevin Guttierez of PROJECT: FAILING FLESH. Moreover, Eric has decided to re-record/cover a song from the unreleased VOIVOD 2001 demo as a tribute to late VOIVOD guitarist Denis "Piggy" Da'Amour.

E-FORCE's debut album, "Evil Forces", was released in October 2003 via Season Of Mist Records.
