DUFF MCKAGAN To Host This Year's 'Classic Rock Roll Of Honour'

September 26, 2012

Duff McKagan (DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED, GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) will host this year's Classic Rock Roll Of Honour awards gala in London on November 13.

LYNYRD SKYNYRD will perform and ZZ TOP will receive the Living Legend Award at the event, which will be held at the Roundhouse, Camden.

Says McKagan: "I'm pretty honoured to have been asked to host. God, I hope I don't fuck it up."

Adds SKYNYRD frontman Johnny Van Zant: "It's great to see the band getting noticed in the U.K., Europe and beyond. I think my brother and the one that have moved on would be proud. Not too bad for a little band form the west side of Jacksonville!”

When ZZ TOP's award was announced in August, Billy Gibbons said: "We're excitedly gearing up to attend the 2012 Classic Rock Awards, a celebration held in a timely manner following the long awaited release of the new ZZ disc, 'La Futura'. Good times for sure! We've stuck it out long enough to where this once unpredictable style, which has no basis other than oddness, brought us back into vogue."
