DUFF MCKAGAN's LOADED Checks In From Europe

September 18, 2008

LOADED, the band formed by current VELVET REVOLVER bassist Duff McKagan (on guitar and vocals) after he left GUNS N' ROSES, has issued the following update:

"We are on day five of the Europe tour and things have been beyond fantastic! The shows have been so much fun, thank you to everybody for coming out and sharing this experience with us. The connection we are having with you all is something we won't forget!

"As for the show itself, we have started to venture into places we didn't expect to. Every night before we go on, we put on music to get us fucking pumped up and ready to rock! PRINCE, QOTSA, NOTORIOUS B.I.G., whatever. On the first night of the tour, during 'Dog', we just started throwin' parts of songs we were listening into the breakdown. Mind you, we had never even attempted some of these. It was just a blast. Who knows if this will be a nightly thing; guess it just depends on the vibe."

LOADED recently posted the fourth webisode (see below) featuring footage from the recording sessions for the group's new album.

LOADED played a warm-up show for its European tour on September 2, 2008 at the Viper Room in Hollywood, California. Joining LOADED on stage for a couple of numbers were McKagan's former GUNS N' ROSES bandmate Gilby Clarke and ex-GUNS N' ROSES/current VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum.

LOADED will release a five-song EP entitled "Wasted Heart" on September 22 via Century Media Records. A new full-length album will follow in early 2009. The CD was produced by Martin Feveyear and will include such tracks as "Roll Away", "Forgive Me", "Sick", "No More", "Southern Girl", "No Shame" and "Translucent".

A new LOADED song entitled "No More" is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.

"These are purely my songs," McKagan told Billboard.com. "It's probably more derivative of my earlier years of punk rock. It's a good rock 'n' roll band. It's fun, is what it is. There's no real business and no real drama. I'm really into no drama right now," he adds, noting Scott Weiland's recent rancorous departure from VELVET REVOLVER.

In addition to McKagan, LOADED features drummer Geoff Reading (GREEN APPLE QUICK STEP),bassist Jeff Rouse (VENDETTA RED, ALIEN CRIME SYNDICATE) and guitarist Mike Squires (ALIEN CRIME SYNDICATE).

LOADED was formed in 1999 and has morphed several times, releasing two albums: 1999's "Live Episode" and 2001's "Dark Days".
