September 15, 2004

STRATOVARIUS/SAXON drummer Jörg Michael has posted several photos taken during his recent studio and live sessions with SAXON and Italy's KALEDON. Check them out at Jörg's official web site.

Jörg made his live debut with SAXON at their release party on August 20 in Hamburg, where the band perfomed a couple of songs live. Michael's first official show with SAXON took place the next day at the Mission Impossible festival in Sweden.

SAXON's new album, "Lionheart", is scheduled for release on September 20 through SPV Records. The follow-up to 2001's "Killing Ground" was completed at Gems24 studio near Boston, Lincolnshire, England with producer Charlie Bauerfeind and features artwork by Paul R. Gregory, who had previously worked with the group on the now classic "Crusader" album. A world tour in support of the album will begin on September 22 in Kiel, Germany. A complete list of tour dates is available at this location.
