DROID Recording Debut Album For KORN Guitarist's Label

Long Beach, California-based metal/hardcore act DROID is currently recording its debut album that will be released on Emotional Syphon Recordings, the new label formed by KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer. The as-yet-untitled effort will reportedly feature a guest appearance by DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno on "one of DROID's heaviest songs on the record." A late September/early October release is expected.

DROID was one of the acts performing on the second stage at this year's KORN-headlined Family Values tour. The band previously toured the U.S. with KORN and LIMP BIZKIT as part of the Back 2 Basics trek.
