Commented Portnoy: "A special mention must be made declaring OPETH as my 'Band of the Decade' as I could have easily listed 'Deliverance', 'Damnation', 'Ghost Reveries' and 'Watershed' all in my top 10 as well, but I had a self-imposed rule of only one album per band... I had similar issues picking a definitive album from PORCUPINE TREE, PAIN OF SALVATION, MASTODON, LAMB OF GOD and THE FLAMING LIPS, who all put out very consistent, quality releases all decade."
