Commented guitarist Olof Morck: ""Our new effort will definately be different from the two first albums, but it's not a question of commercialization. The music is much more varied this time around, but most importantly, the whole album is EXTREMELY worked-trough. This is not a record that took a couple of moths writing, as we have spent almost every day the latest 1 and half year writing arranging, re-arranging, re-writing and so on, to make the most ultimate metal record we could make at this point. We have tried to open up a lot of new soundscapes and influences not generally used in this type of music, and I'm very, very thrilled with the results.

"This album is very much a reaction to today's metal scene, and our previous career, we've dropped many clichés, not only lyrically like I mentioned before, but the abuse of bass-drumming, and frequent high pitched vocals, and gone is the previously all-mighty power chord! There is so much you can do to a song sound-wise with different chord shapes on the guitar, yet most metal bands play these silly fifth chords trough all songs. No more for us.

"Now you shouldn't think that if you like the old DRAGONLAND you'll hate the new one, because all the elements we felt were unique to DRAGONLAND in the first two albums are retained in our new stuff. And of course Jonas will sing high-pitched, but not all the time like before. All in all, this album will be the product of working 3 times more with an album than all our previous combined, and I am confident that it will be obvious to the listener.

"The sound will also generally be heavier, yet more melodic, as we now tune in C. The songs will also vary quite much in length, from 3 minute catchy songs to over 8 minute epics. This album will also feature a really filmscore-like (like 'The Rock', 'Gladiator' and 'Braveheart') metal song, a bit like the previous intros and outros but with the whole band on it. That song will also include the awesome action-type soundtrack feature in Hollywood films which blends perfectly with metal!

"Note that all/any changes we've gone trough are completely our own decisions, and there hasn't been any pressure from Century Media at all whatsoever, and we didn't do these changes to sell more records, we did it to offer you all something a bit more unique than our previous efforts."
