November 27, 2009

DOWN guitarists Pepper Keenan and Kirk Windstein were interviewed by Patrick of Full Metal Rock at the 11th annual Voodoo Experience music festival on October 31, 2009 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Watch the chat at this location.

DOWN's entire show at the Voodoo Experience can be viewed at Tyronehood.com.

More than 150 acts played on eight stages in three separate areas — named Le Ritual, Le Flambeau and Le Carnival — around the city.

Other major acts on the Voodoo Experience bill included KISS, JANE'S ADDICTION, WOLFMOTHER, EAGLES OF DEATH METAL and MEAT PUPPETS.

DOWN bassist Rex Brown had his gallbladder and polyps on his pancreas removed in September in a surgical procedure.

Rex is suffering from acute pancreatitis, a sudden inflammation of the pancreas which can have severe complications and high mortality despite treatment.

A full and healthy recovery is expected.

DOWN tapped Danny Theriot of Metairie, Louisiana to fill in on bass for the group's recent North American trek, which kicked off on August 3 at Beaumont Club in Kansas City, Kansas.
